The Farm Stand is Open

Wow! It’s been a HOT minute since I’ve written a garden update!!

As most Springs go, this one has been INSANE. Even more so due to the implementation of the Farm Stand, and growing produce to fill it.

I’ve really been trying to cut and arrange flowers to sell as well, because it’s a big passion of mine.

Today, I was finally comfortable enough to open the farm stand. I struggled with it for a long time…that I wasn’t ready. I didn’t have enough product, I didn’t have enough tables. You know how it goes. Finally this morning, I just thought “What’s holding me back?”

Don’t you hate when it is our own thoughts and fears that hold us back from our wonderful futures?

Since this is my first year growing for market, I honestly didn’t really know where to start.
I always start my gardens earlier than most, and start a lot of stuff indoors.
But what about starting things successively, so you have a season long harvest? Or pinching things, so plants grow bigger and stronger? Or covering your entire garden with compost BEFORE planting? Or that you should REALLY listen to your husband about grub control in the yard, or else your beautiful organic garden is going to get eaten alive by Japanese Beetles.

But, that’s what it’s all about for me. Living it, learning it, and being right in it.

Here are just some pretty pictures of everything that’s happening.

The Swiss Chard has been a beautiful pop of color in the garden this year. With VERY good flavor too.

It’s been herb central here, of which I’m super please about.
Chamomile, Sage, Thyme, Oregano, Lavender, Rosemary, Basil, and Dill have been show stoppers.

I’m starting to come in to my own with arranging. I’m still slightly self-conscious, but every time I do something, I realize I just have a style all my own.
Hopefully I’ll have arrangements to sell, daily at the stand.

The Self Pay Chalk Board.
I’m gonna need a bigger board…..

Hello beautiful shed.

I’m excited that everything is coming on so well. It’s been a great season so far!
