Household Chore Lists for the OCD in Us All

Now that the garden is done for the season, I find myself being able to focus more and more on “domestic” duties.
My bathroom has actually gotten cleaned TWICE in 2 weeks. My floors get vacuumed more than just when it’s raining (and I’m inside). I cook food from scratch and have time to think about making meals in bulk for my family. I’m crocheting again for gifts and for orders (my winter job). I finally learned how to knead bread by hand, and the bread was delicious, airy, and beautiful (carbs and I have a deep relationship, ok!). (Check out this recipe I made here, so delicious)

As much as I love love love my garden and being outdoors, I am the teensiest bit of a clean freak when it comes to my house. If my kitchen sink isn’t empty at night, I can’t sleep very well. If my bathroom is gross (I live with 2 boys…you can imagine) I think about cleaning it everyday…until I actually get around to it. And when I do, it’s like a weight is lifted off my chest. I’m a procrastinator by nature, but I’m working on it. I’ll walk by that bathroom a hundred times and think “I REALLY NEED TO CLEAN IT.” But then something else comes up that seems more important.
ANYWAYS….

The gardening season, although my favorite, is hard for me. I love to have a clean house, but who has the stinking time when there are seeds to plant, weeds to pull, produce to harvest, wash and store, herbs to dry, holes to dig, perennials to transplant. The list is endless…

So I came up with my MASTER CLEANING LISTS. This keeps me sane and on track. I’m going to be honest with you and tell you that I don’t always follow them exactly, but they are a WONDERFUL reference point to keeping your house clean. You might not remember the last time you cleaned the screens on the windows, or when the freezer got cleaned out last, or when you flipped your mattress.

So if you want a detailed lists to clean from, here they are!

The Master Cleaning List is where I gather my weekly, monthly and yearly tasks from:
