Smack. Smack. Smack.
That’s the sound my lips are making as I write down my brownie recipe.
If you’re a light, airy, cakey brownie type of person, get off this page right now…we’re no longer friends.
In all seriousness there is a time and a place for cake-like baked goods, but not today.
My brownies are gooey.
They are fudgey.
They are nutty.
I think my healed cavities (from my amazing DIY toothpaste: Check that out HERE) came back!
The key to my recipe is using my pre-made Powdered Brownie Mix. For the full tutorial, click HERE.
I also have a secret ingredient…
Baby stirring powers.
If you don’t have a baby around to use, your own stirring capabilities will work just fine. (Just probably not as cute)
***A NOTE ON BROWNIES BEFORE YOU BEGIN***
Brownies aren’t like cake or other baked goods. If you’re using a toothpick to test for done-ness, you want to have crumbs and maybe even some batter/gooey deliciousness when you pull your toothpick out. If you wait to pull your brownies from the oven when your toothpick is clean, they will inevitably be overdone.
ALSO: Let your brownies cool almost completely in the pan before trying to cut them. Yes, warm brownies are the most ridiculous temptation ever, but they will fall apart if cut too soon. SO JUST HOLD YOUR HORSES AND WAIT.
Using my Powdered Brownie Mix, dump 4 cups into a bowl.
Mix in all of your wet ingredients and nuts (if choosing to put in…I think you’re crazy if you choose not to). As my sweet daughter showed you above, whisk all of your ingredients together. Mix until just incorporated. Don’t over mix brownies.
Pour batter into a 9 x 9 pan.
I’m a pan snob, and was spoiled growing up. My mom sold Pampered Chef for the majority of my life, and now I won’t bake in anything but stoneware.
You can order the pan I’m using HERE.
Sprinkle more nuts on top of batter, if using.
Then pop into your oven. Bake at 325 degrees for 40-50 minutes.
